Idea Competition “GENERATION-D” Prize Awarding
The Market Economy Foundation, along with its project partners the Bavarian Elite Academy (Bayerische Eliteakademie), Süddeutsche Zeitung, and Allianz, has for the second time awarded the winners of the GENERATION-D prize. At the prize awarding ceremony at Berlin’s Adlon Hotel at Brandenburg Gate, the top 10 teams presented their ideas for Germany during the executive meeting of the Süddeutsche Zeitung.
The jury, composed of board members and executives from the project partners as well as students from the Bavarian Elite Academy (Bayerische Eliteakademie), judged the participants based on the following criteria: creativity and innovation of the idea, as well as its feasibility and sustainability. The ideas at the competition have a chance to offer a long-term solution to problems and are not designed to result in a mere short term trend. The submitted projects are to be efficient and economical and should serve ecological or social purposes. Through participation in GENERATION-D, students take responsibility for the problems of today, as well as those of future generations, into their hands.
The prize awarding in 2010 took place at the end of November at the “Economic Leadership Meeting” (Führungstreffen der Wirtschaft) in Berlin.
